Conferences

The AIVC holds a conference each year in September/October in one of the AIVC participating countries.

Since 1980, these annual conferences have been the international meeting point for presenting and discussing major developments and results regarding infiltration and ventilation in buildings.

A smart ventilation system is able to continually adjust itself to provide the desired IAQ while minimizing energy use, utility bills, thermal discomfort and noise. A smart ventilation system is also responsive to e.g., occupancy, outdoor conditions, and can provide information about e.g., IAQ, energy use and the need for maintenance or repair.

Occupants use windows to control their thermal comfort and indoor air quality (IAQ). However, occupants often have to make a compromise between thermal, acoustic and visual comfort, IAQ and energy use for space conditioning. Moreover, they are not only looking for good indoor environmental quality, but also for their needs for security and privacy.
