Bibliographic database Airbase

AIRBASE is the Bibliographic Database of the AIVC.

It contains publications and abstracts of articles related to energy efficient ventilation. Where possible, sufficient detail is supplied in the bibliographic details for users to trace and order the material via their own libraries. Topics include: ventilation strategies, design and retrofit methods, calculation techniques, standards and regulations, measurement methods, indoor air quality and energy implications etc.

Entries are based on articles and reports published in journals, internal publications and research reports, produced both by university departments and by building research institutions throughout the world. AIRBASE has grown and evolved over many years (1979 to present day, over 22000 references and 16000 documents available online). For most of the references, the full document is also available online.

Access to the publications is free of charge.

The winter thermal environment and indoor air quality in classrooms has been reported to be very poor in Japan. In this study, an air-conditioned, mechanically ventilated classroom was surveyed.

Shuzhao Liu, Hiroshi Yoshino, Akashi Mochida

Cold storage is a way to deal with peak cooling loads.

Pavel Charvat and Milan Ostry

In order to clarify the association between indoor environmental factors and children’s health problems, indoor air quality was investigated during the winter and rainy seasons in Japan.

The main thrust of this paper is to investigate the optimized supply air condition and energy saving potentials of a dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS) applied to a high-rise apartment building.

Kim Min-Hwi, Kim Jin-Hyo, Kwon Oh-Hyun, Seok Yoon-Jin, Jin Jeong-Tak, and Jeong Jae-Weon

The objective of this research was to develop environment-friendly Hwangtoh binder for application of Hwangtoh for interior wall finishing materials in the housing.

Jisoo Jeon, Sumin Kim

Recently, the hybrid air-conditioning system that used natural ventilation together with a mechanical air-conditioning was proposed.

Eunsu Lim, Toshio Yamanaka

Natural ventilation is an effective method for energy conservation while potentially improving indoor air quality. Furthermore, a window has a significant impact on energy consumption.

Hyoin Kim, Geun Young Yun

In this study, an attempt is made to define building design variables for a medium-sized office building with individual office cells in order to provide sufficient summer comfort without active co
